I come to the camera as a musician and artist who also works in advertising and direct mail. My original interest in photography began with shooting black and white film while I was in high school.

When I devoted myself to pursuing my music in the late 1980s I was forced to put photography aside. Ten years later, I decided the rigors of playing in a band were too much to sustain, and in doing so I realized that something of a creative pursuit was missing in my life. I picked up a small digital camera and started experimenting with photography again.

In 2003, I purchased my first DSRL and began shooting in earnest and learning about the other facets of digital imaging. Shortly thereafter I also upgraded to a professional SLR and renewed my interested in film.

Besides shooting hundreds of events, I have shot everything from extreme sports and Olympic Trials to historical ruins in lost deserts. I have also spent hundreds of hours in training with a special emphasis on Photoshop and the darkroom.
